How this is calculated
The maths is deliberately simple, so you can verify it by hand:
monthly revenue = courts x hours/day x days/month x price/court-hour x utilisation%
The gap is the difference between the result at your target utilisation and the result at your current utilisation.
Assumptions
- Price is the net price per court-hour, before VAT and discounts.
- Utilisation is treated as a single average across all hours and all courts. In reality, peak hours and off-peak hours differ; the average is a useful planning figure but not a forecast.
- Ancillary revenue (coaching, retail, cafe, padel events) is excluded.
- Days open per month is the calendar default of 30 unless you change it.
The calculator is a planning aid, not a guarantee. The point of the gap figure is to make the upside concrete enough to act on, not to predict next month's bookings.
